Matías Riccitelli - Tinal 'This is Not Another Lovely Criolla'
A son of a well known winemaker from this region, he’s dedication is to make wines with very minimal intervention and from vineyards where no herbicide or systemic products are added. The wine is with no sulfites added, no stabilization process and no filtration.
From winemaker: Grapes coming from height vineyards located at the IG Los Chacayes, Valle de Uco, Mendoza at 1.100 masl. In our vineyards, we do not use any herbicide or systemic products, managing them in an agroecological way. The grapes heads up in a natural way by gravity in small clay amphoras, with 50% whole bunch where the fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and at temperatures between 24° and 26°C. Then we make a very gentle work to sink the hat and achieve a slow extraction. The aging continues in small clay amphoras during 8 months.
Criolla Chica, Argentina’s name for the grape from Chile knows as País, or Mission in California. This is medium-bodied, with soft tannins, a chillable red that on the nose will give floral aromas and on the palate lots of red berries and a splash of spices. Very easy to drink and so easy to pair with charcuterie, and cheeses and burgers.
