Malauva - Rosarella
About the winemaker: Malauva's "Casa Agricola" is nestled in Castel Giorgio, within the province of Terni. The property graces the fringes of the Alfina volcanic plateau, approximately 550 meters above sea level. This unique location, bordering Umbria, Tuscany, and Lazio, is a stone's throw away from Lago di Bolsena. Winemaking here has its own unique voice, with traditional grape varieties similar to Orvieto, but the make-up of terroir being an extension of the nearby volcanic lake.
A blend of Procanico, Trebbiano, Drupeggio direct press followed by a short maceration on Sangiovese skins. Spontaneous fermentation without temperature control. Aged in stainless steel. No filtering or fining and no added sulfur.
Surprising floral aromas, accompany by a mix of flavors of red apples, yellow peaches, dried cherries and strawberries. Juicy and expressive with a well balanced acidity.
Goes well with Pecorino and Asiago cheese, as an aperitif and with BBQ.
Region: Umbria, Italy
Grape: Procanico, Trebbiano, Drupeggio, Sangiovese
Vintage: 2022
