Statera - Cutis Chardonnay
From the winemaker: Cutis, the Latin word for skin, is our first ever skin fermented Chardonnay. Sourced from Celilo Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge, the wine was fermented with 50% whole berry and 50% direct pressed juice for two months in 500L French oak casks, and then aged an additional 14 months in neutral French oak barrels. We are calling this our lava lamp edition because the wine developed a protein haze in bottle. The protein haze disappears as the wine is poured into a glass and is completely harmless, creating a wine that is refined and elegant.
Region: Columbia Gorge, Washington
Grape: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2018
