Emme Wines - 'tell your sister I say hi'
Noted from wine maker, Rosalind Reynolds : Colombard from Ricetti Vineyard forms the base for the ‘tell your sister’. The fruit was fermented whole cluster and foot crushed, and left on skins for a week. After pressing, the wine finished fermentation in stainless steel, then was transferred to neutral oak barriques to age for 5 months on lees. Chardonnay and Muscat Vert round out the blend, adding weight and aromatics to the Colombard. Picked and fermented separately, both varieties were also foot crushed whole cluster and left on skins for a week. Similarly, after pressing the wine finished fermenting in stainless, then was transferred to neutral oak for 5 months on lees. All 3 varietal components aged separately. In late March, the Colombard, Chardonnay and Muscat Vert components were racked out of their barriques and blended just before bottling.
This skin contact wine is floral on the nose, ripe tropical fruit on the palate. Textured and salty; and one of our favorites from Emme Wines that is so enjoyable on any occasion.
